Dear Arbitan, welcome to the greek Wikisource.

I noticed that you renamed the page in the Index namespace "Μεταγραφή:The New Testament in the original Greek (1894).djvu". This action broke 27 pages in the main namespace which contain text transcluded from it. I also noticed that you requested that the file File:The New Testament in the original Greek (1894).djvu which is hosted at Commons be renamed, in order to match with the renamed Index. Unfortunately this will not repair the damage, it will only recreate the pages matrix in the Index page. All 678 pages in the Page namespace must be recreated or manually moved to the new title. Unless you intent to do it, and do it as soon as possible because pages with high number or views are broken, wouldn't it be better to consider this minor difference, one letter capitalised, insignificant?

Yes, I agree it's a minor change not worth the work. I apologize for making the mistake. I didn't realize the Index page was linked to the Commons File page in that way. I'm okay with it being reverted to the lowercase 'o' if that can be done easily. If not, I'll rename the files manually. I can have it done within a few days. The move request at Commons went through. I've gone ahead and moved every page just to get it taken care of quickly. I'm sorry about the mess I made. I hope that cleans it up. I haven't updated the transcluded pages because I am planning on reorganizing them. I thought each book of the NT should be a disambiguation page listing various manuscript and published versions of the book. So "Κατά Ματθαίον" would be a disambiguation page and "The New Testament in the Original Greek (1894)/Κατά Ματθαίον" would transclude this particular text of Matthew. That's actually how I got myself into this mess. I was going to create a namespace for The New Testament in the Original Greek (1894), and I got confused and renamed the Index page. I'll update the transclusions when I copy and paste them over, if that sounds reasonable. Arbitan (συζήτηση) 07:51, 2 Ιουλίου 2022 (UTC)Απάντηση
Browsing the greek Wikisource it is easily noticeable that ancient texts appear in only one version. This is not because a specific edition has been accepted but because only one has been copied here. Polytonic texts are very difficult to be transcrypted, because OCR software produces inaccurate results, correction and validation are performed in the "traditional", painstaking method, with eyes and fingertips on the original. Of course, everyone is welcome to add more versions of any polytonic text, but noone has attempted yet. The transcription of another edition of the New Testament has been in progress since 2008 here, Μεταγραφή:The New Testament in the original Greek - 1881.djvu, but the editors stopped when they reached greek polytonic text. We have silently established some unoficcial conventions, since there is only one version of a text, it should be under its own title. Unless there is at least on more completed version, there is no need for a disambiguation page. Are you aware of any attempts to transcribe other editions of the New Testament texts? Do you plan to transcribe one? If not, there is no need to reorganise the texts under the the title of the current edition and create disambiguation pages that contain only one text.
I also noticed that you created a page under the title of this edition that contains the title pages, the introduction and the table of contents. The text in this page is in the english language, therefore it should be transfered to the English Wikisource. For example, you see Μεταγραφή:Ésope - Fables - Émile Chambry.djvu which shares texts with the french Wikisource and Μεταγραφή:Hermetis Trismegisti Poemander (1854).djvu which shares texts with the latin one.
Please do not move the texts under the title of this edition and do not create disambiguation pages before at least one more completed version of the texts exists in ther greek Wikisource.

I see how making the link for "<book>" (e.g. "Κατά Ματθαίον") go straight to the only completed version would be simpler for readers, since it saves them a step. But this presents two difficulties for me as a user, and I wonder how they can be resolved:
(a) The text gives no indication of which edition it is.
(b) I can't tell what other transcription projects are in process that I can contribute to.
Regarding (a), could there be header information at the top of each book to say what edition it comes from, and to link to a transcluded version of the whole volume? In order to implement this, I'm guessing we'd put the text on "The New Testament in the Original Greek (1894)/<book>" and make "<book>" a redirect until such time as another version is in place? This has the added benefit of making it easier to incorporate another version, because one would only have to edit the "<book>" page.
Regarding (b), is there a mechanism for listing editions and versions of a Biblical book that have been begun, or that could be begun? Portals, maybe? Arbitan (συζήτηση) 19:16, 2 Ιουλίου 2022 (UTC)Απάντηση
@Αντιγόνη: "Are you aware of any attempts to transcribe other editions of the New Testament texts? Do you plan to transcribe one?"
I started contributing to the 1881 Westcott & Hort edition.
I also put 𝔓1 on the Greek Wikisource earlier today. I was planning on pasting in the transcription that's in the German Wikipedia article, transcluding it, and listing it on the "Κατά Ματθαίον" page. I was going to do that for any other early manuscripts I could find. Arbitan (συζήτηση) 19:23, 2 Ιουλίου 2022 (UTC)Απάντηση
@Αντιγόνη: "The text in this page is in the english language, therefore it should be transfered to the English Wikisource."
I've been trying to find a Wikisource policy on this but I haven't been able to. I know that Index and Page pages need to be kept on the relevant language Wikisource. But when a full book is transcluded, doesn't it include all the pages in that book? I want to be able to read the Westcott & Hort book -- the entire book -- the way I'd read any other book on Wikisource. I want to read the English introduction and then the Greek text. Isn't there a way to do that on Wikisource? Arbitan (συζήτηση) 19:27, 2 Ιουλίου 2022 (UTC)Απάντηση
By the way, I just remembered that the Robinson-Pierpont edition is licensed CC0, and I think there's an electronic version floating around somewhere. So that's something that could be added to Wikisource. Arbitan (συζήτηση) 20:04, 2 Ιουλίου 2022 (UTC)Απάντηση
